Here are some excerpts:
"KINGSTON, N.Y. – Zinc8 will leave Ulster County Industrial Development Agency officials guessing for a month about whether it will move forward with plans for a battery manufacturing facility at iPark 87— and the corresponding need for $20 million in bonding — following the announcement earlier this week that the company was laying off most of its employees and its chief executive officer had resigned."
"There’s a lot of sensitivity to what’s going on right now so (Zinc8’s representative) didn’t want to offer too much information because there’s so many issues going on,” he said.
Scott said during an Industrial Development Agency meeting that Zinc8 officials, prior to the announcement about its problems, had asked for the closing date on bonding to be pushed to early 2024. He added that the company was keeping open the option of using iPark 87.
“They didn’t want to go into specifics for obvious reasons but they did indicate several things,” he said. “They were very appreciative of the continued efforts of the IDA to put them in a position to move forward. They indicated there would be additional developments coming to light in the very near future.”"
