RE:Makes no sense to meThe stock is currently trading below true market pricing. The price of the stock right now is controlled by a group of what I call wash traders. The way it works is there are approximately more than a dozen of various accounts registered with multiple brokers that have a) large enough amount of cash b) they have a large amount of GXE shares and c) they have access to borrow shares. Most likely all accounts are traded by a single PC that has some kind of a smart software running all accounts from a single PC. The bids and asks come literally from the same place so the shares mainly never leave their hands. Yes, sometimes there is an occasional buyer or more importantly for them is a seller. They drive the price of a a stock down with that technicque with a goal to get cheap shares while they can. They slowly accumulate shares by buying them from exhausted shareholders.
Good news is that all washtraters are LONGS. The are there to depress the price in short term but also they will stop washtrading while they can no longer do it. At some points buyers overwhelm their washtrading and the stock start going up significantly. I have seen it happen to several companies in the last 7 years. Capstone mining and Athabasca Oil. They attack junior companies with good potential long term. Sooner or later Gear will go much higher from these levels, washtrading stops and investors will bring volumes. Currently the stock is being washtraded so please do not hope for a quick resolution of this.
