USHA Takes Proactive Steps to Address Li Supply Challenges In the article below, Electric vehicle (EV) expert Susan Zou, Vice President of Rystad Energy, warns that the demand for EVs is growing, but the production of lithium batteries, a crucial component for EVs, may stagnate, leading to higher prices.
Zou emphasizes the increasing importance of lithium, which powers both smartphones and electric vehicles, but is a finite resource. Zou cautions that the global battery supply chain may face lithium shortages by the end of the decade.

To proactively tackle the anticipated supply challenges, particularly in North America, Usha Resources Ltd (Ticker: USHA.v or USHAF for US investors) is actively engaged in two noteworthy lithium initiatives. The first is the White Willow project located in Ontario, and the second is the strategically positioned Jackpot Lake project in Nevada. Notably, the Jackpot Lake project is in close proximity to the sole active lithium operation in the United States.
USHA has offered a recent update regarding its White Willow Lithium Pegmatite Project in Ontario. Through the analysis of collected samples, the project has identified ten drill targets that display encouraging initial findings, showcasing elevated levels of lithium, cesium, tantalum, and rubidium.
USHA has scheduled the commencement of drilling activities at these targets for the first quarter of 2024. Notably, White Willow has emerged as a cornerstone asset for the company, aligning with its overarching strategy to establish itself as a significant lithium producer.
This initiative complements the ongoing exploration efforts at its Jackpot Lake Lithium Brine Project in Nevada, where drilling has already begun to evaluate the mineral potential.
