The problem with Wilan was that it offered low growth potential with substantially elevated risk of thanks largely to the America Invents Act and the policies of government, particularly Democrats, towards private property rights...a philosophy still evident in many Biden admin programs.
The pivot to ITS was strategically very smart...thank the oft criticized Jim Skippen for that move. Execution has been below expectations tho. Wilan was to be the cash cow that funded ITS growth via an acquisition aggregator strategy. But the funding turned out to be elusive and the difficult marriage if IP monetization and ITS operations was unattractive to many investors. Ergo the decision to take what Wilan could generate now and get on with the ITS plan.
