Maverix Metals is a subsiduary part of their operations just like Pershimex has become for Abcourt Mines.
Perhaps by acting as a holding company for Pershimex, Abcourt could use this corporate legal status to spin out the Pershimex side of the operations at some future date, if that action was to become acretive to shareholder value.
It would certainly be cheaper to have kept the company structured this way at the time of acquisition than to have to set it up this way at some later date. Management made the correct decision!
