Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Difficult post to makeRetiredgeo, I want to block them outright! I don't want them reading my posts!!!!! So you're a retired geologist. My highest respect for you! Geology is something I have a hard time visualizing. It's like a movie in the sense that you have to visualize all of the changes over millions of years to arrive at and explain the current state of things. Not only in 3-D but with the added dimension of time.

Yeah they used potassium chloride brines and oil based drilling muds im Clearwater with great results. Both inhibit the swelling of the montmorillinites if they're present in the Eagle Ford. They probably have one hell of a technical team that I'd love to hear more about. But most of what I read here is irrelevant, mindless yap about irrelevant, mindless stuff. I want to block those people.
