RE:RE:RE:Aris presentation at the Gold Forum Sept. 14thI found these points very interesting from the Aris presentation:
1. About 85 % of Colombian gold production is mined by "illegals". (Either by criminal gangs or by simple minded miners, who simply do not know how to get a legal licence for what they are doing).
2. Gold recovery rates of these miners is only 40 - 45 %. While recovery rate - if their material is milled professionally - is 80 to 85 %. And in professional mills is zero mercury while the illegals use that mercury poison to extract the gold from the mineral.
All this is not new. The Greystar/ EOM concept had also planed to give local miners access to our planed mill. The point is, that Aris had success to bring this message at the front end to the people and to realize it. The local miners get in real life more money for their work, when they bring their material to Aris - instead to extract the gold with expensive mercury poison and loose a lot money due to extreme low recovery rates and due to not very trustful middle man traders to whom they sell their gold.
