RE:RE:Record Population Growth in AlbertaInteresting story!
Since you worked with them, I will assume they are high quality people merely lacking wisdom that will hopefully come with age!
I give them credit for taking action, although misguided, the future more often than not belongs to those who take action while others are paralyzed in fear. (Not a universal truth, but largely accurate IMO) Hopefully, their paradigm is flexible enough to allow for for growth. I have a soft spot in my heart for those who take action / risks to better themselves or others.
My daughter was a goalkeeper (Soccer), made Cal South ODP team a couple times, picked up a small scholarship to a D1 college (that she hated :-) She had many victories, many losses, many long drives home in tears. The game typically came down to some action my daughter took.
Sidenote to new(er) sports parents... Telling your daughter you are proud of her, does very little to stem the tears of defeat, Just saying :-)
Anyways, the reason I am posting today, I found a quote I wanted to share about my investment paradigm: "The Fed can’t print people or energy"
As small investors we are frequently at the whim of the big players, the FED, hedge funds, Blackrock etc. These players can move paper markets at will, but they are unable to create workers to offset demographic decline, and they are unable to create oil out of thin air :-)
I hope this makes sense, the minute I read the statement, I realized the bulk of my investment decisions have been vindicated by history! Oil and skilled labor are precious things not easily found. Inflation is the path forward. Not exactly earth shattering news, but really stood out to me today for some reason?
Ok I am rambling on, now back under the rock from whence I came :-)
Cheers,
Nukester
