RE:RE:RE:RE:EMERGING Problem: NOT ENOUGH QUALIFIED Workers For PA CCS merimat....interesting story here...as many here know - I am a history buff...

1....the Indians that got the 60 guilders worth of stuff (they actually didn't get cash) were not people who had the authority to give up the island...so it was actually a scam

2....the leadership of the Indians there at the time when told of the "sale" believed that they were renting the land - not selling it.

3....the Dutch after "buying" the island surrendered it the British in 1673 (a scant 47 years later) without a shot fired and got nothing for the land.  So even if one believes that that they actually bought Manhattan for 60 guilders worth of stuff like iron pots, they "sold it" for nothing when they surrendered to the British and so it was actually a bad purchase and the Indians got the better of the deal.
