RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:PPA PriceI believe the quote refers to the cost of electricity generation from Montalva vs the cost of electricty generation from the exisitng resources on the island. Most of the generation (56%) comes from crude oil, 28% comes from natural gas, 12% from coal and 2% from renewables. Considering that all of the fossil fuels have to be imported, and that oil prices have gone cray again, the cost of fossil generation is quite high. So this makes sense. It would be easy to find the cost per kwh of that generation, but I'm too lazy. The generation mix and MANY other stats for the island can be found here: https://www.eia.gov/state/print.php?sid=RQ

So, I think this stat probably checks out (with plenty of potential caveats as, well, Jeff).
