They don't need sentiment to change. They are going to have enough FCF to buy back their own stock and increase share prices without any additional investment required. They can shove their ESG up their bums because stocks like Freehold, Whitecap, Baytex, Athabasca, and MEG, will just buy back gobs of stock and the price per share will follow upwards.
Eric is saying $100 oil is coming but it is really unecessary for these stocks to buy back their production. If the market stays over $75 WTI, these companies are awash in cash.
It all makes pefect sense and this looks like it is playing out just as Eric predicted.
Only major worry left is Lib Govt imposing "windfall" profit tax.
FRU and other royalty co's may be immune from the political risk.
