NILI Extends Lithium Mineralization at Nevada North Project Surge Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: NILI, OTC: NILIF, FRA: DJ5C), a Canadian-based mineral exploration company, is making significant strides in the exploration for lithium, which is a crucial component for the electric vehicle (EV) market. The company is actively engaged in uncovering high-value battery metals in Nevada, a region known for its lithium-rich resources.
One of Surge's key projects is the Nevada North Lithium Project, situated in the Granite Range southeast of Jackpot, Nevada.
The project's initial round of drilling, completed in October 2022, yielded promising results, identifying a substantial mineralized zone of lithium-bearing clays with an impressive strike length of nearly 1,620 meters.
The average lithium content within all near-surface clay zones intersected during the 2022 drilling, applying a 1,000 ppm cut-off, was a noteworthy 3,254 ppm, showcasing the significant lithium potential within the project.
Now, Surge Battery Metals is pleased to announce a groundbreaking development in its Nevada North Lithium Project. Recent certified assay results have confirmed a remarkable 1.5-kilometer extension of lithium mineralization to the northwest of the 2022 drilling efforts. This expansion is nothing short of a game-changer for the company.
One drill hole located at drill site location P, returned impressive lithium grades ranging from 1,000 ppm to a promising 5,670 ppm lithium. The highest grade horizon within this hole has a thickness of 29.8 meters with an average grade of 3,841 ppm lithium while the overall average grade was 3,682 ppm lithium.
Another promising drill hole, positioned at drill site location V has sample results ranging from 1,000 ppm to 5,120 ppm lithium. The primary clay horizon within this hole commences at a depth of 78.5 meters, spanning 21.3 meters in thickness and grading at 3,064 ppm lithium.
Excitingly, a 2023 transient electromagnetic survey suggests that the near-surface claystone within the project thickens to the west, and resistivity decreases, hinting at the potential for even more substantial mineralization.
As the 2023 drill program continues, Surge anticipates expanding the known lithium-rich clay to over 3,500 meters in strike length and increasing the width of the mineralization to 950 meters, presenting a substantial opportunity for investors in the electric vehicle industry.
