Private Equity/Pension funds

Private Equity/Pension fundsEdgepoint Wealth got me thinking, why these big pension funds with billions under management don't go after these depressed REITs hand over fist, get to 20%, then buy them out. Little risk buying most CAD reits at decade lows with a 7-10% cap rates, and the potential to sell off assets in the private market for higher.

Dream Office can be taken out for chump change

Even if rates stay high for longer it gives good located reits opportunity to jack rents and call it inflation.

PRV reit has an industrial property released at 100% spread to old rate.

Wild stuff
