Landmark Forestry Agreement (Beyond My Level of Expertise)I didn't understand where the shares were coming from, so I put into ChatGTP:
"(TSX: WEF) (“Western”) have reached an agreement for the Nations to acquire a 34% interest from Western in a newly formed Limited Partnership (the “Partnership”) for $35.9 million (the “Agreement”).
And ChatGTP replied, in part: "So, it's more about the transfer of interests or assets into the newly formed Limited Partnership, and it may not directly affect the ownership of existing shares in Western (WEF). Shareholders of Western may or may not be directly impacted by this partnership, depending on the details of the agreement and the overall corporate structure. To get a clear understanding of the implications for Western shareholders, you would need to refer to the specifics of the agreement and any related disclosures or announcements from the company."
To sidestep the inevitable critique - YOU OUGHT NOT TO BE TAKING FINANCIAL ADVICE FROM CHATGTP - I am not. I am simply trying to get a little more info so I haev a better idea of what I need to know.
So... can anyone, would anyone, be willing, to explain more about where the 34% ownership is coming from? Or where I might find out?
I am sure this likely a good, forward looking move on the part of WEF. But I would like to know a little more.
