RE:Ontario

RE:Ontario

Clean electricity because of nuclear and efficient CCGT plus peaker gas plants that can be dispatched when needed to compensate for variable demand or when the wind doesn't blow. Winds are much stronger in the winter and a lot weaker in the summer when it can be hot and humid and A/Cs are on.
Summer is also when they schedule maintenance. Turbines take a lot of abuse during the winter especially during ice storms, but they are hardy accessible due to snow and mud in the predominantly farm land where they are installed.

Libs like promising green jobs, often encouraging multinationals to invest it doesn't last long and normally it's just a waste of money. For instance, Siemens had a blade plant in a small town in southern Ontario but in 2017 they closed it laying off 340 people.
