I for one learned a long time ago that Cynthia runs LME like she will own it forever - running incredibly hard every day at doing everything I would expect her to do if this were the case - even though she is working equally hard on selling the company. The dynamic and unpredictable nature of M&A work demand that prudent and responsible business people continue to work as if no deals are in the works - because even if they are - they could instantly not be.

I've stopped assuming that Cynthia doing long term work means anything on than she is running the company prudently while simultaneously working on fulfilling LME's destiny - an all cash sale. Not just for my sanity - but more importantly because it is true.

I would absolutely 'phone it in' for about if a deal was on the table and imminent - but that isn't who Cynthia is - and we are all very well served by it.
