Well, if results are as bad as we all expect them to be, the smart move for management would be to accentuate any possitive developments with either good Q4 visibility or significant headway on the carbon credit sales potential front.
It's also important to keep Verde's results in context. The Brazilian Ag sector in general is reporting poor Q3 results so far. Only behemoths like Nutrien with their access to ultra low financing options have fared far better than disadvantaged Brazilian firms with their cost of capital at 3X the likes of Nutrien and Mosaic. If Verde were a poor performer anomaly in a sector full of robust profits that would be a major concern and suggest the need to re-think the entire operational strategy but for now I think they're being squeezed by a very difficult marketplace with extremely price sensitive customers who are opting away from financing their inputs at 16%+ rates.
