October operational update When the call for support came from Global Affairs Canada to repatriate Canadians from the Middle East, our operational branches came together very quickly and collaborated closely with Corporate Security, Government Relations, Revenue Management and Network Planning among others to bring home Canadians. We operated six repatriation flights from Athens in October and brought home more than 950 Canadians.
“A special shout-out to our International Operations team for supporting on the ground in Athens as well as our Flight Operations and In-Flight Service crews that operated the repatriation flights. This is an impressive example of how all teams, within and outside the operation, quickly came together to win as one Air Canada,” said Cale Daniels, Vice President, System Operations Control.
Our October operational performance improved over September with more stability. We exceeded our network flight completion target every day, with one exception. Our solid operational performance also led to better customer sentiment. We’ve seen very positive customer sentiment in October, which has been steadily climbing since August. This increase has been positive across all markets and all three carriers: Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and Jazz.
