So 210 feet of hydrocarbon bearing rock is not 210 feet of net pay because some of that 210 feet of hydrocarbon bearing rock may have a permeability so low that the rock contributes little to nothing at all of recoverable hydrocarbons. OK, makes sense. Pretty simple to understand. Why didn't they just say that? Anyway the Santonian is mostly tight sands in that area. But the Maastritchtian was great quality sands analagous to Exxon Liza they said. I wonder what the Maastritchtian formation pressure was at Liza? Lol I've already forgotten about the Santonian. Too difficult and expensive to develop right now. Go for the "low hanging fruit".
I can just imagine what a new investor to this play must be thinking right now. Shares so cheap for both oyl and fec for companies maybe one shallow hole with DST away from a massive discovery.
