Collections
CollectionsI've no idea what the collections status is, but it seems likely a substantial amount has been collected as of today. Regardless, my point is something else entirely.
One has to think about the reason why Reliq was so interested in signing up as many smaller clients as possible, that reason being to get enough data to convince bigger clients to sign contracts. That, it seems, was a sensible and successful endeavour. So, regardless of whether Reliq collects 50% or 90%, they get a chance at the big leagues.
Now, there have been some here who have suggested that the bigger clients won't pay for service if they know that many of the smaller ones didn't. That's like saying you've been selling your product to local convenience stores and have finally graduated to Walmart. Does anyone actually think Walmart won't pay its bills because some of the mom and pop's didn't? That's a silly argument based more on emotions than logic.
So, do I care whether or not Reliq collects from smaller clients? Of course I do, especially the effect on the balance sheet, but substantial write offs are not that big a deal to me. The bigger clients are where the money is and where the future lies.
