NILI advances NNLP with Permitting Development While Lithium spot prices have slumped, bullish sentiment has been coming out of wall street with a potential low incoming as demand for EV continues to rise. To help support the future of North America's Lithium Supply, Surge Battery Metals Inc. (Ticker: NILI.v or NILIF for US investors) is exploring Nevada for high-value battery metals necessary for the booming EV market.
Today the company announced that it is taking a significant step forward with its flagship lithium project which could open doors for expanded drilling, defining mineral resources, and advancing economic studies.
The Nevada North Lithium Project
Surge Battery Metals' flagship project is the Nevada North Lithium Project, situated in the Granite Range southeast of Jackpot, Nevada. The initial round of drilling, completed in October 2022, revealed a substantial lithium-bearing clay zone spanning approximately 1,620 meters in length and 400 meters in width with the average lithium content within these clay zones, reaching 3,254 ppm.
Building on this promising start, Surge initiated the 2023 drill program to expand the known lithium-rich clay, aiming for a strike length of more than 3,500 meters and a width of 950 meters. The eagerly anticipated assay results from this program are expected to shed light on the project's potential. So far Surge has already reported lithium values up to up to 8,070 ppm from this round of drilling.
Recent Developments: Exploration Plan of Operations
In a significant development, Surge Battery Metals shared today that it has submitted an Exploration Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan Permit Application (EPO) for Nevada North to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Upon approval, this plan will permit up to 250 acres of disturbance, a substantial increase from the current authorization of 5 acres. This milestone marks a pivotal moment for Surge, enabling in-fill drilling to define the current mineral resource area and potentially expand the known lithium deposit through step-out drilling.
The proposed activities in the EPO include the installation of groundwater wells, additional metallurgical characterization and testing, and geotechnical investigations. The approved plan will contribute to an updated mineral resource calculation and further economic studies, advancing Surge Battery Metals toward its goal of becoming a key player in the lithium market.
