RE:RE:IRA & LFP & Nano One Materials & China Hi Contrap127, yes we are all aware the ruling will be realeased imminently. But "IF" the decision is made in favor of Nano One is a major "IF" and a major risk to the Nano One share price.
"IF" the ruling is not in favor of Nano One, what do you believe Nano can possibly do to compete with Chinese LFP manufacturers on a price base alone? Certainly you will agree that "IF" the ruling does not go in Nano's favor, it will be a setback for Nano One.
Now think to yourself what the Canadian and US governments are trying to accomplish. They want supply chains re-shored which includes manufacturing of LFP CAM as well. So yes they could be inclined to rule in favor of Nano One. But also, they know that it will be many many years until NA LFP CAM manufacturing will be at a scale required to serve their ambitions EV battery demand projections. So they may in fact rule against Nano so that the battery cell and battery pack manufacturers that are trying to scale up in NA are not unnecessarily penalized for using Chinese LFP CAM.
As a thought exercise, how do you think Our Next Enegy (ONE) is praying for the ruling to go? Do you think ONE (who will be required to buy Chinese LFP CAM until 2026 when Nano scales) is hoping to pay a terrif on the Chinese LFP CAM that they will be using ? Of course they don't want that. They want to scale up as quickly as possible.
Governments want everything on-shored in theory. But they are also practice and understand that if they rule in Nano One's favor it will be a major set back for North American LFP battery manufacturers.
Anyways, the ruling will be released soon so let's sit tight and see what happens. It will almost certainly be a good boost to share price if ruling is in Nano One's favor.
what do you predict might happen to share price if ruling does not go in Nano's favor? Can we at least agree that shareholders will likely be upset and directionally the share price will decrease?
It's an extremely scary period right now for Nano One shareholders that so much hinges on the decisions of a small group of politicians who need to protect the growth of the entire EV sector (not just the LFP CAM manufacturers for which there are very few).
