RE:Transparency required
RE:Transparency required Iscfa - You only post half the truth. You keep bringing this up in hope that it will create some controversy. I have posted the actual facts each time you post this half truth. Copay's were way bed during the Covid emergency which is still in place I believe until the end of the year.
The 20% copay is for standard Medicare and not Medicare Advantage plans which many have no co-pay. Also all dual eligible Medicare/Medicaid patients have Medicaid pick up the copay. Doctors can also waive the copy if they document a financial hardship.
25% of Medicare patients are dual eligible Medicare/Medicaid
50% of Medicare patients are Medicare advantage
that leaves 25% of patients that have to pay a copay.
Of those 25% they would not be low income (those would be dual eligible Medicare/Medicaid) would pay anywhere from $10-$80 a month which is not that much to stay out of the hospital or allow you to age at home. If it keeps you out of assisted living it is cheap compared to the assisted living monthly cost.
