RE:RE:RE:Guyana is done for.... idiots upped the price on exxonWell Dan Pickering is a Petroleum Engineer with an MBA so he's credible. I checked out his bio. Yeah, I keep on reading from local oil experts that if we're only talking about filling tankers with processed but unrefined crude oil then Venezuela can ramp up production a lot quicker than most people realize. We'll see. I'm not a facilties/infrastructure guy so I don't know.
But I do know that the estimated 15,000 wells that have been sanded and/or water coned off because the commies pumped on them too hard can be worked over and brought on line pretty quickly especially if 200 to 300 workover rigs can be brought in. In 1997, pre-commie days Venezuela had 284 rigs here most of which were drilling rigs, the balance being workover/service rigs. All the big drilling contractors, back in the day, were in Venezuela: Nabors, H&P, Pride, Flint, Cliffs, Santa Fe, Precision Drilling from Canada etc.
But loading processed crude onto tankers is another matter. The host of the video talked about Venezuela's "muddy" crude. Crude looks like brown mud when it has too much water in it. The processing facility is supposed to remove the water. Sounds like they have a big problem doing that.
