Price to Sales is a useful metric for a company in the start-up phase, but
Tilray was founded in 2013, followed by Aphria in 2014. I would have compared Earnings per Share if either company had any. As the late, great Charlie Munger once said "when you see EBITDA, substitute bull$hit earnings."
Branding/marketing is difficult in an industry where it is illegal. Product quality is subjective, but certainly boutique producers can have an advantage. The major issue facing Canadian producers is worldwide competition, which is growing faster than the customer base. Colombia can produce cannabis for 6 cents per gram - how do you compete with that ?
