RE:Uranium Investing

RE:Uranium Investing

In addition, Westinghouse (now Cameco) has very little competition, in terms of experienced nuclear engineering in the West.

The 'big three', back in the heyday of US nuclear powerplant construction, were General Electric, Westinghouse, and Combustion Engineering.  Combustion built the best (most-efficient) reactor design.  Westinghouse eventually acquired Combustion, and GE nuclear went into a joint venture with Hitachi.

And that's about it.  There are some smaller nuclear engineering and fuel services companies (e.g., Babcock and Wilcox, Centrus), and of course the French and Chinese have quasi-govt entities, but in the west, nearly all of the experienced nuclear engineers have ended up at Westinghouse or GE-Hitachi.  And of course, many have retired, particularly after the last year added to their portfolio.

The industry is a bit conservative (or even 'stodgy').  But hard to imagine they won't find a way to grow.
