No wonder CVE Sask Thermals freshwater use suck

No wonder CVE Sask Thermals freshwater use suckSask / Sask regulator have no provisions to recycle water at Sask insitu thermals.

Besides CVE, that means CNRL, Serafina (now Strathcona), IPCO, (and soon Cardinal), etc. all would have terrible fresh water consumption per barrel produced.

That also explains why the footprint of these Sask thermals are so small compared to Alberta SAGD.

I guess Sask folks are ok with this!!

Definitely not meeting best of breed operating/regulatory Canadian standards.

BTW Alberta regulator/policy is SAGD must be 90% or better recycled water.

Unless there is grandfathering provisions, at a stroke of the pen, these Sask operators would be at great op/financial risk if recycle water regulations are enacted matching Alberta.
