RE:Nice to see Rusty loading upThanks for the background barney. I still wonder about Conduent Transportation as a M&A opportinity fro QTRH.
Conduent Transportation is currently experienceing some of the same timing, changing scope and margin issues on implementation that QTRH seems to be on a path to resolving. Recall that about 18 month back Conduent stuck its foot in the divest/spin-off water for its transportation unit, with a $1B valuation trial balloon. After the laughter subsided, the strategic review was mothballed. Clearly, Conduent's main business is managed payments, so the divest/spin-off merger strategic alternative for Conduent Transportation might still be on the table.
Conduent Transportation's business covers tolling, public transportation ticketing and parking. Tolling is a major component of the unit as it operates 6 of the 10 largest USA toll systems, including systems in California, Florida, New Jersey and New York and is modernizing and maintaining the Ohio Turnpike toll collection system.
Chuck Myers said on the last call that the goal is for QTRG to be one of the big tolling companies and that there is only room for a few. A QTRH - Conduent Transportation tie up could be one route to that goal.
