RE:RE:RE:RE:aema conference The rocky mountains from Alaska to Mexico were created by island groups of various sizes, and oceanic sediments and volcanics of various types, being accreted to the western margin of the North American plate as it advanced westward. The Copper porphyry was created as part of one of these islands (Island arcs) and then thrust faulted on top of the North American plate during it's collision with the island. It sounds to me that the Triassic rocks and the younger Jurassic porphyry were all part of the island and were thrust faulted cold on to the North American plate.
What difference does any of this make to exploration or economic potential or share price? Probably none. It is all academic.
