RE:RE:RE:TMX saga a perfect example of Western Industrial Paralysisfor example:

The cost of administering the federal carbon tax and rebate scheme has risen to nearly $200 million since its inception in 2019, employing 465 full-time bureaucrats to administer the carbon tax and rebate scheme. This cost is increasing because last year (2022) it cost $82.6 million alone where is $116.5 millions spent from 2019-2021.

it's voter apathy that we end up with a dysfunctional gov'ts, similar to argentina, greece, cyprus for example. Yes, we are not as bad shape yet as Canada had a good start because we fought two world war and have more natural resoucres where as former countries don't or have less of it.

Now canadian job growth is in non-productive govt' sector, and importing low skills foreign immigrants for quick short term fix but iit also created new set of problems like housing crises, healthcare crises, rising crimes.  Gov'ts justify its existence by creating red tapes, bloated bureaucracy and voter dependency but the charade can't last forever.

Argentinians finally realize they needed someone with a chainsaw to take care of the whole mess. In one way, Argentina, greece, cyprus, sri lanka are better off than canada, they don't have to deal with wokiesm (gender identify and diversity, LBGTQ rights, race and religion division, drag queen twerking at kids at library story hour)
