Hydrogen can come from natural gas. Way cheaper to transport ammonia than LNG. Handling and transporting ammonia is well understood, ammonia is used abundantly in chemcial and agriculture industries. Conversion from gasoline to ammonia ICE power cars is not complex. This guy made a device that can manufacture ammonia from water and N2 from air for 25 cts/liter at a small DIY scale. Transition to ammonia power ICE than EV is way cheaper and faster, and overall less environmental impact than building up EV infrastructure.
