Merry Christmas, A New Year upon us and bbI see that this board is essentially dead.
May it come back in the new year with a new set of posters interested in pursuing the truth and helping one another understand this company. That's a tall order, I know.
I am glad that John Giamatteo has been chosen to lead Blackberry. He's an insider, he is going to cut costs, he is going to hold onto what is good, bring the company into the black, and then there will be more respect.
The stock has been beaten down to around 4.70 cdn. That is not unusual. It is strange for the company to report Q3 in the height of tax-loss season. I guess it shows a tradition of naive honesty but I really don't think it is that smart. It encourages a mob rule in evaluating Q3 results. It encourages hypercritical comments accross all boards, driving the narrative for the benefit of shorters.
John Chen formed a company with some worthwhile parts. He sounded like an exhausted beaten up old man when interviewed after Q2. I am glad he is gone.
This John Giamatteo has a chance, as an insider, to take the good in the company and make it work. I, for one, am going to give him a chance.
