Maybe you should back up on that a little bit.

Whenever you invest in a company, you're essentially turning your money over to the company's management. 

You're saying to management, "Here. Make my money work for me."

"Peter may not be the company, but he's the company's largest shareholder,  the company's upper management. and the company's board of directors. 

And he's done a piss-poor job making your money work for you.
