Annual updateNothing much has happened this year. JL’s criminal case against Ossa was dismissed because there was no evidence of criminality. The exhorto in MSX’s civil case was closed without obtaining testimony. That’s it.
I expect the identical criminal case filed by MSX against Ossa to be dismissed and the additional exhortos issued to Canada to be returned without result. The finding of no criminal liability against Ossa does not bode well to finding any civil liability against him (not that there was any evidence against Ossa in the first place, but Chile has very low – or should I say no – prequalification standards for filing a civil suit). That leaves the libel suit (extraordinarily weak) against CMN and the inactive suit against CMN and HUL for nullification of the original Villar sale.
