Capex Guesses

Capex Guesses Metal thinks $350 million Cdn.

Always thinks $750 - $1 billion Cdn.

Yours truly guesses $500 million US, which converts (1.32 exch) to $660 million Cdn.

As usual with these things, it will be real interesting to see the split between initial capex and sustaining. This is where things can get murky. I've seen cases where sustaining can be very modest, say 15-20% of initial capex. Then there's the other extreme where sustaining can be almost as much, or even higher (!!!!!) than initial. Just looking at slide 14 of Troilus' presentation, you can see that the new pits are going to dwarf the existing Z87 pit. In other words, zillions of tons of rock needs to find a new home. How you split the cost between initial and sustaining is more art than science, in my limited experience.

Note for always, you're going to be disappointed. JR has acknowledged several times that Troilus is much too small a company to build this mine by itself. I can't immediately point you to chapter and verse link, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. They will be looking for a joint venture partner and negotiations will start in earnest sometime after the DFS lands. My impression was Q2, I believe, with the DFS to drop in the first week or 10 days of January. The study was supposed to be delivered to the company pre-Christmas, but they didn't want to release to a dead zone between Christmas and New Year's.
