RE:RE:Any posters have a timeline to sell off fossil fuel stocks? The first step would be to stop burning the stuff in simple combustion engines for transport. Not an easy step. They are still trying to figure out the technical solutions for long haul transport, aircraft, cargo boats, never mind it being a massive economic and logistic hurdle to jump to make.
Then there's the other functions of oil.. acting as lubricants, refrigerants, plastics for everything, as well as producing multiple feedstocks for medicines, and even food products (propylene glycol)...
We are not getting away from oil anytime soon and anyone who thinks we are has no clue how much they depend on it for their daily lives.
And natural gas use in cogen facilities aided by carbon capture and storage will play a massive role in the zero emission future. Natural gas also happens to be a feedstock for hydrogen production and these units with CCS will product zero emission hydrogen. It's not going away. Hence why Enbridge is investing in natural gas.
But go ahead and sell, Im happy to hold and buy.
