Doubling global progress on energy efficiency

Tuesday 16 January 2024, 15:00-16:00 CET (online)

Dear colleague,

At COP28 in Dubai, governments worldwide called for a “doubling of the global average annual rate of energy efficiency improvements” this decade. Achieving the goal, which is rooted in the IEA’s Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario, will need strong and early action to deliver the required investment and technology deployment.

What does the doubling goal mean? How is it measured, and what steps are needed to achieve it? How can governments increase their policy ambition using well-designed and well-implemented programmes, and where do strong examples already exist?

Join IEA Head of Energy Efficiency and Inclusive Transitions Dr Brian Motherway and other IEA experts for a webinar exploring these and other questions on the global goal to double efficiency progress.
