Even if they recognize that it's necessary, do they dare do it and more than likely get themselves fired?

One has to ask if the numbers were going to blow the markets socks off would they not be placating with an NR thanking everyone for their support and just hold on its coming?
No NR is sticking the middle finger up at the market and you piXX off the market it punishes you.
What you want in a new CEO is a change agent/organizational development specialist with experience in ramping out projects and hopefully a lot of people they can bring in to cull the waste that exists now.
Lots of heads need to go at the present orgnization. A lot.
What possible advise can the former CEO be giving that would be helping this company?
