Truss Canada? New flavor of gummie beer? With all the exciting news over at Tilray, one has to wonder why Tilray's share price has dropped from $2.97 to $2.68 so far this month.
Tilray, along with the other Canadian cannabis LPs have received no positive effect on their share price - in fact most Canadian LPs are down in January.
I'm not sure if Ive ever mentioned my personal opinion that US MSOs will see significant incraeses in share value with even the slightest of positive news, while Canadian LPs may 'ride the coat tails' of the sector news for a short time - but then fall off again.
I guess I was too optimistic on the Canadian LPs - like Tilray, Canadian cannabis LPs have received NO positive effect on their share price with the two siginifcant press releases from the DEA in early January - and yesterday's announcement.
Today, even with the huge Truss announcement - Tilray dropped .05 cents, and is down .28 cents so far in Januray - while the 5 US MSOs I own performed as follows so far in the month of January:
Today January to date
The Cannabist + .02 + .11
Cresco + .03 + .91
Curaleaf + .28 + $1.34
Trulieve + $1.23 + $4.24
Verano + $1.09 + $2.32
Can you even imagine - my TRU stock has increased over $4.00 in the last 3 weeks. (I might have mentioned that in my opinion, TRU will see the largest share price recovery of ALL cannabis stocks)
The above DOES seem to confirm my past posts that US MSOs will increase with psotiive news - because US legislation such as SAFER, and re-scheduling DOES NOT affect Canadian LPs.
As well, no-one has yet to answer my question - if you want to be invested in the cannabis sector and you're waiting for US legalization, why would you invest in a Canadian LP as oppsoed to a US MSO who are already operating in the 40 or States that have already legalizied?
Tilray 'longs' get all a-tither with the old news Truss release - I guess thinking it would help their DEAD MONEY investment - while Trulieve and Verano both saw a share price increase of over $1.00 based on the weak news release yesterday.
Figure it out, boys - you're getting left behind
