RE:historical question about the short shares So I know a couple of you have been around here for years like I have....
So over the past few weeks as I was deciding on the direction for my 3 accounts for 2024, I was just reviewing activity, insider filings etc on DXT., and was actually surprised that the 600k shares that were short since the fall/winter of 2022 were suddenly gone for the Sept 15th report last year...I think that all had to do with the Cross in the market from FFX to Hamblin Watsa Investment Council, And generally when stuff like that goes on in the markets the shares trade sideways, as they did, or else if they appreciated rather quicklly it would have raised red flags.
Yup, somehow I missed that entirely....ooops, or forgot...which is equally bad ... Lol
Anyway, I recall Fairfax transferred 5,985,206 to HWIC Global Equity Fund Sept 15th....
It seems like a little bit too much of a coincidence, but I though I would ask you fine folk whether you have any insight. It had struck me as strange that the short shares showed up after the stock had already dropped off the highs, and we were sub $6 already .
I am just waiting patiently, Collecting my dividends and waiting for the company to be sold off or quite possibly taken private by FairFax Financial. Another company I owned that Fairfax took private at a nice premium has industrial, Infrastructure and Tooling.....Maybe they want NRB Modular solutions???? Just speculating
If any have some comments they can provide either here or through DM, it would be appreciated
Anything in the mid 5's I just keep adding to my core position!
