Us SMART shareholders will have fantastic returns on this one. Will be interesting who Justin brings on as our partner and I am sure that TLG doen't want to be the operator, we will probably retain a minority interest and that would suit me perfectly.
$2.00 or higher by year end or even way before? Unless you're expecting a share consolidation (reverse split), you're living in a fantasy world IMO.
A JV partner is a negative in my view. It signals to me that the company can't find a suitor to take them out at a decent purchase price per diluted share and can't (or don't want to) fund the whole project themselves (of which I am almost certain in TLG's case), so they try to find an entity to pitch in some money as a joint venture partner. If you want the share price to move up dramatically, this is not a good route to go in trying to achieve it.
Exhibit A is OSK. There was big hype surrounding their Windfall project. Then they turn around and announce a 50/50 joint venture with Gold Fields via a press release dated May 2, 2023.. OSK was down 5% from 3.77 to 3.58 on much larger than average trade volume of 2.8M shares that day. It closed yesterday at 2.48. I know the gold sector hasn't been a good spot to be over this time period, but a drop of 34% doesn't exactly scream good deal.
