RE:New sanctions for Maduro

RE:New sanctions for MaduroYes, that's the buzz in these parts. Sanctions to be reimposed. Marco Rubio, the Republican senator from Florida, said it best. Venezuela is being run by a mafia who have the monopoly on violence and who will never, ever willingly cede power because if they lose power they will end up in jail.

So, that's where we're at for now. Trump wanted to invade Venezuela but he was asked to back off. When he's elected again then I wonder what he'll do? He was the one who first imposed sanctions back in 2019. And it looks like he has a very good chance at being elected again because CNN en Espanol (Spanish language CNN) is reporting that the latino(a) demographic in the US is swinging more and more Republican, up to over 40% now, previously only around 20%. The reason is because for them immigration policy is a huge issue. They, themselves want much tighter border controls. That much of a swing will be a deciding factor in states that narrowly went democrat.
