AMA president, Dr. Paul Parks, said the growing access to pharmacists does nothing to change his "extreme concern about what's happening with patient access to comprehensive lifelong care." He urged the government to act quickly so family doctors' clinics can remain open and financially viable. Offering pharmacists and drug stores as a treatment is akin to putting the proverbial band aid over a gaping wound.
But for corporations like Loblaws and Telus it's just what the doctor ordered.
