Sparks, NV to be exact. This will be a stand alone plant apart from the Gigafactory. The exciting news is that it will be making LFP batteries using CATL equipment. CATL has been making huge strides in LFP battery performance. The news stated these LFP batteries will be for the storage market. The large Megapacks and home Powerwall's . LFP uses lithium carbonate in the chemistry. The kind that Century will be pumping out. The new battery plant is planned for 2025 start. This is close to the time that Century will be making the final decision on construction. Meaning an offtake could happen in 2024. Tesla will want a source of lithium for it's new upcoming plant, right?
Very interesting timelines for both the mine and the new LFP plant that will need tons of lithium carbonate. Just another reason to load up on these cheap shares. Just a matter of time. This company could make millionaires out of long term thinkers. I am hoping to be one of them.
