If we analyze as you point out, the direction things are going in our capitalist society, it makes total sense for governments to proceed to a digital system with all haste. That way governments can easily, with no fuss, collect more and more money....a bit like back in the days when the Dukes, Sheriffs and Kings taxed the living daylights out of the townsfolk and workers collecting their money using hired soldiers...except our new Kings and oligarchs and super rich in today's society's won't need an army to collect the fees and taxes, it'll be at the push of a button..
So let's say the governments succeed and achieve a digital society. I'm curious how holding gold and silver will be advantageous....who will want it? Is it game over at that point. How would a person use or trade gold or silver...except to a high tech, medical, space rocket type company or other similar such company that needs it? Can't see those companies buying on the black market...
I can see that trading skills and trades would be something useful and easily undertaken, but gold or silver?
So it would appear that, in conclusion, it has to be the governments who are pulling down gold and silver! But hang on....they're the ones opposing crypto aren't they!! How did Sam Bankman-Fried fit in with their plan?
So it's that old 'Wolf of Wall Street'...as always....making money at all costs...ignoring all reason and rationality.... And if they crash the system, they just get a slap on the wrist and start again....
So limits will be exceeded, with blind fools climbing aboard the train, coz that is what always happens. Then when the house of card tumbles and the final phase begins...everyone will be crying and the finger pointing will start!.
And that's when I think, gold and silver will rise, because it's something you can see, you can hold, and most importantly, something you can control. Like owning a home....
stay sharp...glta
i belive the reason why gold and silver will be relevant/ important even in a totally digital world is that there will be the underground economy. the baker the farmer the plummer will still accept the real thing for services or goods. Just as during the war people were using diamonds, gold and silver to procure the items that were necessary for them to survive and or get their family on boats planes to safety.
nevermind the idea of being liquid at all times with a pocket/bag full of gold/silver and to some extent diamonds. you cn grab that stuff quickly and no matter where you go in the world people know what it is and the value of it.
just think even if you play along with in the digital world ....we all do it i still have bank accounts, use credit cards and try to make a buck in the stock market......what happens to your stuff if there is a power outage or the computer system goes down. i have seen it here in canada on of the banks had issues with their debit system for 3 h one morning ...people were frantic calling in to radiostations complaining they were unable to get their morning coffee or get on the bus train because no one carrys cash anymore.....i have enough loose change rolligvarround the floor of my truck to get me thru the day ...lol....
or thgis scenario your driving allong the highway almost out of gas you piull in to a gas station but their card machines are down for whatever reason unless you have some cash in your wallet your not going anywhere
the cashless society push is on in a big way i for one hope it dosent happen in my lifetime !!!!
