RE:RE:Potential Minto Buyer...

RE:RE:Potential Minto Buyer...Pine - I couldn't say with any certainty regarding synergies, this is purely for the feels (as the kids say today).

Yukon wants someone with more resources than Pembridge, given the maintenance/reclamation security required and the Selkirk FN royalty payments, among other considerations.

Rio wants (hopefully) to operate the territory's flagship asset. They need assurances on the power situation, and timely permitting review. Talk from Yukon on both of these initaitives has been just that, talk.

Rio pays to clean up Minto & turn the proverbial lights back on, rehires all the laid off workers, makes Selkirk FN whole on its royalty. In return, Yukon Government speeds up Casino permit review and meaningfully moves forward transmission line (however it can solo), and everyone smokes the peace pipe.

Ivan - yes, Minto might be on the local grid now. But sounds like Rio doesn't need the hydro power connected, just assurances on the path forward.

This arrangement is mutually beneficial, IMO, and assuming they expressed interest, I have a hard time seeing who would've put forth the more viable bid, all things considered.
