Spectral Medical Inc. is a Canada-based late-stage theragnostic company advancing therapeutic options for sepsis and septic shock. I assume Toray filed the patents years ago. But I am not sure when they expire. 

Patents are one thing, FDA approval is another. First to commercial use is key IMO. Commercial/ medical use requires FDA approval
