VLT Produces Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Oil Field Brine Leveraging its innovative Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology, Volt Lithium Corp. (Ticker: VLT.v or VLTLF for US investors) has achieved a significant breakthrough.
The Company successfully produced 99.5% battery-grade lithium carbonate from oilfield brine at its permanent Demonstration Plant located in Calgary, Alberta.
This feat was accomplished through the processing of oilfield brine from the Keg River formation at Volt's Rainbow Lake Project in Alberta, utilizing its proprietary and proven next-generation DLE technology.
This achievement not only reaffirms VLT's dedication to innovation but also positions the company as a leader in sustainable lithium production, advancing its mission to become North America's premier commercial producer of lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonates sourced from oilfield brine.
VLT hopes to revolutionize the process of lithium extraction, thereby reducing capital costs, mitigating risks, and supporting the global transition to clean energy.
John McEwen, PhD, Vice President of R&D and Technical Services, emphasized the significance of Volt's proprietary DLE technology, highlighting its ability to efficiently extract lithium from oilfield brine while maintaining environmental sustainability.
By refining oilfield brine into battery-grade lithium carbonate, VLT is not only meeting industry specifications but also contributing to the global demand for sustainable energy solutions.
