Volume lately

Volume latelyOk so it's just a quick question to see if someone has some ideas. I have honestly done some research on light volume stocks and the most common reasons for this occurrence. We all know what some of the obvious reasons are and I believe the biggest component is the BTD factor. I think we all mostly agree BTD will bring significant buying volume. Here's my question which I researched and could not find out much about. Is it truly possible that the majority of shareholders are sitting tight and there's not much stock to buy out there? I always see a huge ask on the US side but I guess the spread is such that the liquidity and volume lag. I simply can not imagine not wanting in at this point and doing everything possible to pick up shares at these prices. Just looking for insight and hoping no one takes offense to my question. Thank you in advance and all the best to everyone
