RE:This has been impacting our share price and investment That was a proposal that was made last year but there has been no official ban on open pit mines. Imho it won't pass as Mexico would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did such a stupid thing and its unlikely to pass as the article points out as they need 2/3 majority of Congress to pass it. 2.5% of Mexico's GDP derives from mining as the article points out. Major mining companies would move out of Mexico resulting in the loss of 200,000 or more jobs if this proposal were to pass. Why would any sane politician do such a thing? I think this proposal was brought out again to use for political talking points as an election is coming up this year in Mexico.
IMHO, what's really holding down the sp is just the poor sentiment in the PMs right now. Look at the SILJ ETF which comprises silver mines all over the world. It has been down heavily these past few weeks. In contrast other junior explorers like VZLA Silver who has a concession in Mexico has been trending up since Nov/23 on good results. When sentiment turns that will lift the whole sector. We need Ag prices to start rising to bring back buyers. That will happen sometime this year imho when the FED reverses course and begins to loosen rates. DSV has the FS study coming out this quarter sometime so that should lift the sp soon imho. Just have to be patient as things will start to get better.
